Krups upper piston service kit — 2 seals + silicone crema valve
Is the machine leaking and has the coffee lost its thick crema? Restore the upper piston with this complete repair kit. The kit includes 2 new seals that stop leaks and an upgraded food-grade silicone crema valve that lasts much longer than the original rubber. Fits Krups EA and XP series machines and Rowenta.

More durable food-grade silicone crema valve
The crema valve in this kit is made of high-quality food-grade silicone, not standard rubber. Because of this, the part:
- stays flexible for longer,
- is much more resistant to high temperature,
- hardens and deforms more slowly in use,
- withstands repeated brewing cycles well,
- is fully safe for use in a system in direct contact with water and coffee.
When to replace the valve? A worn valve shows as weak or quickly fading crema, watery coffee, uneven flow and lower brewing pressure.
What the sealing rings do
The rings keep a full seal between the upper piston and the other parts of the brewing unit. The seals need replacing when the machine shows:
- coffee or water leaks inside the appliance,
- steam escaping around the upper piston,
- dirt in the side drawer and more water in the drip tray,
- wet or poorly formed grounds in the waste container.

Fitting and product information
Fitting the kit requires access to the internal upper piston assembly. Before you start, disconnect the machine from the power supply and let it cool down completely. After fitting, check that the rings are seated correctly and that the system is sealed. If you do not have technical experience, have the kit fitted by a service workshop.
